Watch Alicia Keys & Adam Levine’s Moving “Holy War” Performance On “The Voice”

Watch Alicia Keys’ stirring rendition of “Holy War.”

Last night on The Voice, Alicia Keys launched into a harmonious rendition of her single “Blended Family,” from her new album HERE. A few moments into the performance, she stopped. “Due to the current climate, there’s only one song I can sing,” she told the crowd.

Suddenly, Adam Levine began playing the fingerpicking pattern to her new song “Holy War.” Keys strode to the piano and started singing: “If war is holy and sex is obscene, then we got it twisted in this lucid dream /  Baptized in boundaries, schooled in sin, divided by difference, sexuality and skin.”

Although the song could be interpreted as an anti-Trump protest song, it could just as easily be interpreted as an apolitical pro-love anthem that we can all get behind.
