Arrest of Tompolo’s men: IPDI spokesperson gets death threat for revealing informants

WARRI—IJAW Peoples Development Initiative, IPDI, said, yesterday, that an Ijaw leader and chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, has threatened the spokesperson of the group, Mr. Ezekiel Daniel, for exposing the identity of the persons who led soldiers to arrest two Ijaw youths alleged to be connected to ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, on Tuesday. Meanwhile, a diver, Freebon Igere, has also raised alarm that his detractors had labelled him as a member of the Niger Delta Avengers with a view to getting security agencies to arrest him. National President of IPDI, Austin Ozobo, in a statement, said: “Our attention has been drawn to the threat on the life of our spokesman, Ezekiel Daniel, by an Ijaw APC leader in the state on July 20. “We call on the Inspector General of Police and security agencies to call him to order.”
